I've been m.i.a. for a few minutes lately. Lots going on & never time to just sit down and blog. I wish I had more time because I don't even know where to start. I went to Kansas & Oklahoma last month with my grandparents & my aunt. I know those are very odd places to visit but we had our reasons. I had a great, great aunt who lived in Kansas. She was 102 years old & I wanted to meet her. I hear she was AMAZING. Unfortunately a week after we bought our plane tickets she passed away. After living 102 years I guess it was just her time to go. My Grandpa's cousin lives in Oklahoma & so my grandparents stayed with her & my aunt & I stayed in a hotel. Long story short we had tons of fun & I enjoyed every second I had with my family. I enjoyed the scenery & the laughs, meeting new people & eating real southern food {although I think I gained 200 pounds}. It was definitely an experience I will never forget.
{This is the house my Dad lived in when he was born in Kansas. So cool to see.}

I think I'm going through a "mid life" crisis at the moment & this is what I want to buy myself. Love these new cars

{We also got to visit the Wizard of Oz museum.}
I was a HUGE Wizard of Oz fan when I was a little girl & the museum was so much fun to take pictures & pretend like I was a little girl again. :) Oh & if you look closely at the picture above there's a beautiful orange butterfly sitting on that stone. My Mom has always told me that butterflies represent someone who has passed away & I've always believed that. I found it fitting that I was in Kansas to visit my great, great aunt but she passed so maybe that was her way of visiting me. :) You never know....

{Everybody loves the tin man}

The Oklahoma Bombing site..this was very somber to see. I got chills just standing in that place where thousands of people lost their lives. The chairs in the picture above represent someone who died. They are placed where the bodies were found. The smaller chairs represent the children who died in the daycare. I can't even imagine....

{"And Jesus Wept"}
This statue sits at the bombing site. It was beautiful.

One of the search teams recovering bodies put this on the wall of a building that still stood. I think it speaks the truth.
{Ready to eat at Toby Keith's Bar & Grill}

These two have been married for almost 50 years! I feel a party in the near future to celebrate. Love my grandparents. I am one lucky girl.

While in Oklahoma I got to visit Jake's sister & her family. I think I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I miss them. Especially baby Karlie. Her & I are best buds. I'm so glad she somewhat remembered me. Heike fixed a delicious dinner & I got to hear all about their lives in Oklahoma. Nothing beats spending time with these people. :)
Some may think I don't have a husband any longer because I never blog about him or the things we do together. That's because it's hunting season & I never see him. We both do our own thing from August-November on the weekends. He's in the mountains & I'm busy doing my own thing at home. I don't go to the mountains when it's capable of {SNOW} outside. Anyway, that's where Jake has been & I've been a "deer" widow for fall. :)
