My good friend Chelsey & I planned a BBQ for Jake's birthday and her hubby Cary's birthday. They share the same birthday so it's fun for us to celebrate together. A few of our other friends have June birthdays so we celebrated with them too. I cooked a lot that day but it was well worth it. We had tons of fun with everybody and I think the birthday boys enjoyed themselves.
For Jake's actual birthday I made him a nice crock pot dinner and a delicious Fruit Pizza for dessert. Call me old fashioned but I have always LoVeD Fruit Pizza. It's one of my faves and it's definitely Jake's favorite. He loved it. He opened his gifts from me {he's very hard to shop for by the way} and then he fell asleep. He's been working long hours so needless to say his actual birthday probably wasn't to exciting but I hope he had a good day anyway.

funny how our friend parties have changed over the years.not to long ago we would have kegs in the garage, loud music, drinking games, slumber parties and designated drivers.now there are kids all over the place.we make homemade ice cream & snow cones.we tell old stories and the parents of the group tell us funny stories about their cute kids & we all leave by 11 p.m. I wouldn't have it any other way though.when I sat there the other night and thought about all of that, it just made me grateful that I've had these friends long enough to do those fun things with.now days I LoVe that I get to play with all of the babies and take fun pictures of them.wouldn't trade our group of friends for anything in the world.

And last but not least this is the only time anyone will ever see this picture. I'm NOT a BYU fan in any way. Sorry for those who went to that college. I'm not against it and I will occasionally root for them when the Utes aren't playing BUT I love my Utes. Well the other day I came home from work feeling pretty crappy. My Mom just made Jake this blanket for his birthday because unfortunately he IS a BYU fan. On a better note, she washed the blanket before she gave it to him and you all know how Mom's laundry always smells better than yours. It smells like "home." Well because I felt crappy I curled up with this lovely blanket and was very comfortable for the time being. Jake got out of the shower and caught me half asleep with his BYU blanket. If my Dad ever sees this he will disown me for life. Ha Ha Ha My hubby on the other hand was promised by me that I would not delete this picture and I would post it on Facebook....yeah right. It's NOT going on Facebook but I will post it on my blog.
