A few weeks ago I found out at work that I have to take a 40 hour furlough. Although this stressed me out I tried to keep a positive attitude. Jake hasn't been able to find any work due to the lack of construction in the world right now. Needless to say....I have been a stress case. So, I asked for some time off and contemplated a vacation to San Diego to visit my grandparents. What's better then a free place to stay and Grandma's DELICIOUS homemade meals??? I was so back and forth and thinking of ways we should be saving money and putting money away but thanks to my wonderful husband he demanded we go on vacation. We've never been anywhere for longer than 2 days by ourselves. We always have friends with us. So off we went. We drove to San Diego and had so much fun.
We went to the beach. The weather was perfect. My grandparents are great tour guides.
These two have been married for 49 years! Wow....And they still love each other more everyday
Grandpa took Jake on lots of golf cart rides around there mobile home park. Their neighborhood is amazing. Everybody is so friendly. Grandpa calls these golf cart rides perimeter checks. He has to make sure the park is safe for everyone to live in. LOL* I guess that's the COP in him.
We went to see the U.S.S. Midway ship! Jake loved it. He listened to the stories in the head phones and we took a great 2 hour tour.
We went shopping, we ate some yummy food, and we even got to visit with my Aunt! We had so much fun. We enjoyed staying with my grandparents so much. They truly are wonderful people. My Grandpa makes us laugh until we cry and my Grandma is one of the sweetest ladies I know. They always make me feel right at home when I visit them and I know Jake felt the same way. All good things must come to an end and we eventually had to pack up & leave. I was bummed out and hated to see my Grandma cry as we drove away. She loves having us visit her and I think she enjoys shopping and just visiting with me. Grandpa and Jake were two peas in a pod on this trip. I think my Grandpa enjoyed having some "guy time." We had such a fun time and can't wait to go back very soon!!
Jake & I are two simple people living in this crazy world. We have the best family and friends and love our life together. We work hard and play hard and wouldn't have it any other way. We don't have any kids...not because we don't want them but because we haven't been able to have our own. We have two awesome dogs that act as our kiddos for now. We enjoy life & try to live it to the fullest. Enjoy our blog!
